(He loves "Sharon Nama" too, but we didn't get a picture!)
November has been a really busy month! We moved into our new home on November 1st and three weeks later we were unpacked and hosting Thanksgiving dinner. Oh- and I had finals at DePaul somewhere in between there. Yikes! Now life has finally slowed down and I have time to reflect on this past month. We are so very happy in our new home. We have so much more space and Joseph just loves pushing is trucks and trains over the hardwood floors. What a difference it makes when you love where you live. We are also so happy about the presidential elections. Joseph runs around shouting "Obama Obama!" It is exciting to see the team Obama is building. I am especially excited about Dr. Susan Rice as the potential UN Ambassador. I had a chance to talk with Dr. Rice at one of her speeches in 2006. Her vast experience working in Africa, her expertise on international security issues, and her great compassion for others makes her an ideal candidate for the position. But enough about politics! I know that not all of my friends and family share my views- and I am not trying to prompt any "debates" here.
Here is a funny Joseph story... On Tuesday night I cooked a healthy whole grain and veggie lasagna for dinner with garlic bread on the side. Joseph really loves garlic bread- but we try to steer him away from the not-so-healthy foods. Youssou wanted to eat his garlic bread, but he didn't want Joseph to see it. So he wrapped it up in a napkin and put it in his pocket. He was going to run up to the store, and thought he could eat it in the car. As he sat on the couch, tying his shoes, Joseph crawled up on Youssou's lap. Youssou explained that to Joseph that he was going to the store but would come right back. A strange noise came from Joseph's throat. Before we could stop him, Joseph threw up all over Youssou. And I do mean all over. I cleaned up Joseph, the couch and the floor while Youssou changed his clothes. In dismay, he pulled his very soggy garlic bread out of his pocket and threw it in the garbage. So much for hiding things from Joseph!
