Vacation in Chicago

Joseph grew really attached to Laura during this visit.  We were so lucky that she was in town visiting at the same time we were!

We got the grand tour of Sharon and Jeff's beautiful new lake house.  If I were still living in the Chicago area, I would definately be begging to move in with them!

Joseph Begins Preschool - Again!

After several months of being deprived of the company of other children, Joseph was ecstatic to begin his new preschool here in Washington DC.

Train Table - Check.

Dirt and Dump Trucks - check.

Chickens - check. 

Joseph's new school is a mini-farm with goats, chickens, fish, frogs, a vegetable garden (we brought home tomatoes tonight!), a butterfly garden, and an adjacent nature preserve for field trips.  No more worries about Joseph being couped up indoors anymore!

During a whirlwind, 2-day visit to Chicago in June, Joseph got to visit his best buddy Jack.

Memorial Day 2010

Shortly before Memorial Day, a mysterious package arrived in the mail for Joseph.  It was a Lightening McQueen bike helmet and knee pads. Hmm...I wonder why a boy without a bike would get such a package in the mail....

Yep - you guessed it.  Within less than 12 hours of landing in DC, Nama and Joseph were at Toys R Us buying a bike.  Bad Nama!  What a fun way to begin Memorial Day weekend.  Thanks Nama!
