Virginia Beach Vacation

The weekend after Labor Day, we were able to sneak away for a three-day weekend at Virginia Beach.  Normally we would not do something so indulgent.  But in exchange for sitting through one of those arm-twisting time share presentations for two-hours, we were able to enjoy an almost-free weekend at the beach.  The day we arrived it was sunny and hot and the beach was super-crowded.  But on the second and third day, it was rainy and cool and the empty beach felt like a private get-away just for us.  It could not have been more relaxing!

Joseph thought it was fun to draw train tracks in the sand

Joseph enjoyed being chased by the waves

Our empty beach

Joseph got the idea in his head that he wanted to eat fish on the beach.  Rather than messing with real fish, we opted for Peppridge Farm goldfish - and he thought it was the funniest thing in the universe.  I appreciate his sense of humor.

I took this picture with my cell phone

Our one sunny day

There is an amazing aquarium in Virginia Beach - including this lovely nature walk

Joseph enjoyed showing Youssou some pictures of local snakes!

In this tunnel, fish swam above our heads!  Joseph loved it but somehow Youssou did not.
